Fawns With Fangs

The Places and lead singer Amy Annelle have been on Hush Records for quite some time in various incarnations. Their last album as The Places, Call it Sleep, crept under the radar with good reason. The album's quiet and soothing atmosphere got the band little attention, and even opening for The Decemberists on one of their cross-country tours didn't help. Well maybe their new album, a cover album entitled Fawns With Fangs will. Bands/people covered on the album range from Bob Dylan to Elliott Smith to the Beatles. It is only available through contacting the band for $10 either through their Gmail or MySpace account. Here's a track from the album.
