Saturdaze

Okay so I was out really late last night and then woke up at noon to write a paper for what seems like everrr. Finding source for Victorian gender roles isn't so fun. So I'm pretty tired and may or may not be seeing Voxtrot tonight in SLC (we'll see). I'm pretty tired and need to some laundry sooo I don't know. Anyway, here's some upbeat music for you. It reminds me of the Futureheads a lot. They're a really new band that just came up with their name last week but they put a three-song demo online. They're called Assembly Now.

Here's the songs:
Apollo Control Demo
Leigh-On-Sea
Out on 24s
It's Magnetic

Be their friend.

ALSO! I have quite a few downloads on eMusic left. Anyone have any ideas what albums I should download??

AND! Colin Meloy and his girlfriend, Decemberists artist extraordinaire Carson Ellis welcomed their baby boy Henry Ellis Meloy (aka Hank) into the world February 24th! Congratulations to them.

Can you find a song called "Just Once" by Cath Carroll? It is definitely worth a download.

Now that's what I call the 1980s

'Imperial Bedroom' - Elvis Costello, kind of somewhere between the guitar driven angry young man early stuff and the 'aren't I a musician' later things.

'High Land Hard Rain' - Aztec Camera, lovely scot-pop album, clever words, upbeat and downbeat in turn

'Night of a Thousand Candles' - The Men They Couldn't Hang, which is a bit of a mishmash of an album, to be honest, but the good bits of it are very very good indeed.
