Enemy

Pretty crazy/amazing to see that it's happened, but check out this scan of Voxtrot being featured in NME! Freakin' crazy if you ask me! Really happy for the band, can't imagine how much attention this might get them.
Those kids are going to consume America with their pop songs once more this spring. Check their website for tourdates. Alas! They added another SLC date and I'll be back in TX. Oh well.
Also at their website you can buy their new EP!

Don't go thinking the NME carries anything like the critical or public weight it used to. Check the sales figures. The journalists there these days would have trouble writing a postcard, let alone an interesting - I'm not even going to go near 'objective' - review of anything. These days, they just throw names and interviews at the wall hoping some of it might stick, and if it does, they can claim some of the kudos. They haven't come to terms with the internet yet, what is the NME actually FOR these days? So I wouldn't go thinking a review in the NME one week means anything other than Voxtrot will be Public Enemy No.1 next week.

But then what do I know? I grew up with Nick Kent, CSM and Paul Morley.

I don't care if Voxtrot becomes the next best thing (even if they should) in England, I'm just glad some people will be able to be exposed to the band thanks to the magazine, no matter how much the magazine might suck. \
