New Dallas Stuff

Hey,
Thought I'd tell ya 'bout a couple of Dallas bands that have new CD's coming out today.
Let's go with who you may already know. the Secret Machines have a new album titled Ten Silver Drops that hits shelves tomorrow. That's right, they started in Dallas, but NYC called, and now look at 'em. I saw them open for Interpol on the last tour, and they put on a pretty good show. Too bad it took them getting outta here to get big. Let's hope this album has as many great songs and as fluid a motion as the last.
Here's the video for their first single from the album, "Lightning Blue Eyes."

Next we've got Black Tie Dynasty's latest called Movements. They're a 4 piece that has strong influences from the good, dark stuff from the 80's & 90's. You know like The Cure, The Smiths, and Jesus and Mary Chain. If you're not sure if you wanna buy it, and you're in the Dallas area, go see them play for free at Tower Records with other Dallas fav [DARYL] this Thursday at 7pm.

Oh and while you're out picking up these 2 CDs and the #1 must-have for the day (maybe the month, yeah I said it) The Rakes, also get your vinyl copy of Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Show Your Bones.

Good shout-outs for Dallas bands. The new Secret Machines is pretty fantastic.

By the way, I found this article in the Dallas Observer archives over the weekend. I didn't know they had so many members back in the day:
