Come In Out of the Rain
One of my favorite things about last year was seeing the Decemberists three times in a weekend, and twice Scotland's Sons and Daughters were opening. I'd liked their EP Love the Cup (especially "Johnny Cash" and "Broken Bones") and was just getting to love their album The Repulison Box. Seeing them live made me love the band intensely, wanting more and more from them. Luckily they've put out a few singles for songs off The Repulsion Box with accompanying different 7" versions replete with B-sides. So here's one of my favorites off the Dance Me In EP/single, a Parliament cover.
Come In Out of the Rain (Parliament cover)
If you live in the U.K. and you're planning on seeing Morrissey on his upcoming tour for Ringleader of the Tormentors, be ready for Sons and Daughters as openers! Big things are happening for this band and I love it.
