Saturday night found me front row for Sonic Youth. I was excited to see them again, considering it's been 4 years since my last SY show. They played mostly from Rather Ripped and didn't veer from their course much. We all thought it was too short, even with the two 2-song encores. It looked as though they were having fun, shaking it, but the lack of free form in the music may have said otherwise. I know it's their job and all, but i'd be really sad if the days of extended noise at their shows is over. Regardless, it was still awesome seeing them. They'll be on Kimmel on July 11th.
