K To The O

Karen O & Janet Weiss (of Sleater-Kinney)

These low-key Karen O tracks were found in a once inhabited apartment of TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek. I love the KO and hope you do too. I saw the YYYs open for Sleater-Kinney in New York and had Karen O's stylist Christiane(?) Joy trying to push us out of our front row spot, 'cause "I'm her stylist, and it's my birthday." She didn't get the spot but jumped up and down on us for quite a while.

And all the woe that moved him so That he gave that bitter cry, And the wild regrets, and bloody sweats None knew so well as I, For he who lives more lives than one, More deaths that one must die, Oscar Wilde

We're in it for the long haul kid, we feel, cuz we're real All the love + safe travels + good luck Karen!

Enjoy!

you really need to get a life. if you were an artist instead of some kind of vicarious sychophant you'd have enough respect for someone else's work to respect their privacy. congratulations. you've been crowned kind of the nerds for one day.

The anonymous two up really should give up. If someone leaves a CD-R behind in their house (that they apparently abruptly disappeared from) then someone's not going to rush around trying to find where they are now. The kid who put it on the net hasn't gone and sold it for $155k like the VU record that was recently on ebay, they're not trying to make a profit, they're just providing fans of the band (and singer) with what they'd want. Yes, maybe she didn't intend for the fans to hear it, but then should she have left it in the hands of an idiotic musician that was going to leave it behind when they moved apartment? I'm not a fan of downloading or downloaders, but when artists get up on their high horses for being dopey there's really no excuse. Did VU complain about their record? Did Jeff Buckley complain when someone got their hands on the 'gabage can tapes'? Who knows, but you should know that if you leave something like that behind then someone's going to keep it and these days shove it up on the internet.

Well done for uploading these two tracks (not that I'm going to listen to them because I hate Karen O).

funny how several people above said that they're not fans of downloading or downloaders, yet they are cruising the web looking at music blogs, sites where downloading seems to be the main purpose. are you guys trying to draw a line between what happens on blogs and what happens on P2P servers?

Personally I don't go on blogs for mp3s of albums/EPs/singles, if there's a live or unreleased thing then yes, I will happily download. You will actually find that this page has been linked from stereogum, a site that generally posts news articles and other interesting pieces other than mp3 after mp3 like most blogs. I have not gone and downloaded these demos and I doubt I will as I'm not a fan, but demos and live recordings I see as something completely different to releases. I buy lots of albums and singles but if an alternate version of a song crops up, then yes, I don't see the problem in downloading that, the band are never going to release it so why not?

Im a huge YYY's fan, Show your bones was one of the two best albums this year, besides TV on the radio - Return To Cookie Mountain!
I just had to hear what the fuzz was about and i must say that its strange but exiting to be let into her little world with this intimate leak!
Hear for yourself, while its still there:
