Hang on Girl


I think I wrote about the Favourite Sons once but uhh here it goes again. Their debut album Down Beside Your Beauty doesn't come out until September 12th (on Vice), but hype is already growing. I say, let it grow even more. Don't really know much about the band but I've liked everything I've heard.

PS can someone recommend a good book for me? I seem to be having a dry spell when it comes to wanting to pick up a book.

    i just finished Underworld by Don DeLillo. it ranks "up there" as one of the best books i've ever read.

    i recommend "no country for old men" by Cormac Macarthy just to get back into the feeling of wanting to read.

    "God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian" by Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut, with the help of Kevorkian, makes trips to the Pearly Gates, or rather, just outside of them, a no-man's-land where both living and dead spirits may mingle. While there, he acts as a roving radio reporter, interviewing various notable dead people. Tell me this premise doesn't excite the pants off you.

    The Power and the Glory, by Graham Greene, or The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. Both quite excellent.
